—Eartha Davis
We are stung
by wanting &
everything
swells: rib, cuticle,
the four sparrows
seeking miracle
in our shared
breast / where is it
that wanting
lives? / it lives
where we
carve it / your face
seeps with
it — yolks, then
shells / (love
upon river
upon
love) / now,
we are wounded with
underswell / we must
have followed
a heart / dripping,
yes, &
pouring / how heart
can sing to us
like a reminder of
animal / how heart
can touch wanting
& say You.
